Gaziantep University (GAUN) Faculty of Engineering organized the “First Engineering Spirit Walk” on the occasion of December 5, World Engineers’ Day.

The walk started in front of the GAUN Faculty of Engineering Dean’s Office and ended at the Atatürk Monument, with the participation of GAUN Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Bayram Çetin, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bayram, Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO) Gaziantep Branch President İslim Arıkan, academic and administrative staff, and numerous students.

Accompanied by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Band, students and participants marched enthusiastically carrying engineering symbols such as helmets, T-squares, and lab coats. Throughout the walk, banners and placards with slogans such as “This banner is not optimized, but it works — and that’s enough” and “Life is hard, but our department is harder” emphasized the spirit of engineering.

The program continued with Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Bayram Çetin laying a wreath at the GAUN Atatürk Monument.

In his speech highlighting the meaning and importance of the day, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bayram stated:
"The First Engineering Spirit Walk has been successfully held at Gaziantep University. This is a great source of pride for us, for our country, and for our engineers. Hopefully, we will come together again every year on this beautiful day in December."
